Recently, we received feedback that it would be helpful to be able to 'claim' an email so that an admin can work with the petition creator to make the email better, without having another admin approve or deny the email in the meantime.
In response, we've made a slight change to the email moderation workflow. Now, when you choose an email from the moderation queue, you'll need to click "I will review," before being able to moderate it.
After clicking "I will review," the email will be assigned to you for moderation and the usual moderation toolbar will appear. The email's status will also be updated from 'pending' to 'in review.'
Additionally, the moderation queue will reflect the change in status. Emails that have been assigned to an admin will include an in review message after the subject.
If you click an email that has already been assigned to an admin, the banner at the top of the page will remind you that the email has been assigned to another user. However, if you'd like to review the email anyway, you can click to un-assign the email and re-assign it to yourself.
We hope that this change will make it easier for admins to partner with email creators to improve the emails they're sending. Let us know what you think.
